Echoes of A Broken Heart
"Our life Lessons are other people's trauma."
I have said Time and again that their is no winner in the game of love. We all come out the other end just as scarred even when we are the ones that got away. The insane part in relationships is that you will never know.
You will never know when they start to slip away. You will not realize when you're loosing them . I wish our hearts could send us secret signals or an electronic shock through our bodies. But maybe we do see the slip ups. We sense it in our hearts and begin to prepare for the lonely inevitable end.
Maybe the changes are subtle
Their once wide smile is nothing but a grin or just a lift of their eyebrows.
Initially they began the day with 'Hey babe"
suddenly, the syllables become less and less and soon, there is no verbal exchange.
It's possible to think this normal after a while in a relationship. But I thought romance was supposed to be young and playful and adventurous.
I think it clicks somewhere in our minds when the hugs are not as tight, the kiss not as passionate and the eyes lazy and wandering.
you used to see them stare as you went about your activities but now you don't. Your heart and body do tell you.
they tell you to be curious about the emoji-less text they just sent.
They warned you about the decline in chivalry
It is not normal to be mean to someone you love.
Conditioning you to disrespect and a trumped self esteem. Your heart warns you
But even as we notice this subtle changes we stay. We hang on for dear life. You watch as someone you loved with all your breath tear your life away.
But finally,
after a long emotional battle. The beloved falls from the lover.
It's soon over, Words can not describe this feeling. The heart beats alright.
Just for you no more.
